I grew up with miniature daschunds and I still love those little guys but when I grew up I developed an allergy to most dogs so I couldn’t get a daschund for my own. Research was done and the maltese topped the list of hypoallergenic dogs. I got my first maltese – my first true love – in the summer of 2004 and his name was Benny Berry. Benny was a 7 lb maltese with a giant personality and endless energy. We went to several dog classes to give him something to do with all of his energy and found agility classes which Benny loved! He was a natural.
Benny passed away in the summer of 2017 and later that same summer I found the next love of my life – little Halle Berry. Halle is a 3 lb teacup maltese with a heart of gold. She’s sweet, cuddly, friendly and adorable. She looks like a princess but plays like a tom boy and completed two series of puppy agility in the spring of 2018.
Halle had a stage debut in the Arts Club Theatre’s production of “The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time” at the Stanley Theatre in the fall of 2018. She was a big hit – with cast, crew and audiences.
Most recently Halle was invited to audition for the Super Dogs! She doesn’t quite have all the skills required for all the agility but she did great at her audition and we plan to keep training for future Super Dogs auditions.
